Privacy policy

Effective 21 April 2026. Coracle Research is a static website. When you visit, our hosting provider logs your request and our analytics provider records a cookie-less page-view ping. Both feed basic traffic understanding. We do not set cookies, we do not track you across other sites, and we do not sell, share, or rent visitor data.

Who we are

Coracle Research is a research practice operating under the laws of Wyoming. Privacy questions and requests should go to coracle@coracleresearch.com.

What we collect when you visit

Every visit sends a standard HTTP request to our hosting provider, Vercel. That request carries your IP address, the page you asked for, the page that referred you, your user-agent string, and the time of the request. Vercel stores the request in its server access logs for a limited period.

The site also loads two small scripts from Vercel that measure traffic and page performance. Both are cookie-less. The analytics script records a salted hash of your IP, the pathname, the referrer hostname, the country derived from the IP, and a few device characteristics. The salt rotates every 24 hours, so visits on one day cannot be linked to visits on any other day. The Speed Insights script records anonymous Core Web Vitals measurements tied to the same hashed session.

Font files and font CSS load from Google's font CDN so your browser can render the Fraunces typeface used on this site. That request carries your IP to Google. We do not control Google's handling of the request; see Google's privacy notice for details.

What we do not collect

We do not set cookies. We do not use local storage, session storage, browser fingerprinting, or any cross-site tracker. We do not run advertising pixels from Meta, Google Ads, or any other ad network. We do not sell, share, or rent any visitor data to third parties. There is no account system on the site.

Email you send us

If you write to coracle@coracleresearch.com with an inquiry, we keep the email in our mailbox for as long as the correspondence is relevant, and we use the contents only to respond to you. Incoming email is processed by our mail provider as the transport carrier. We do not add your address to a mailing list and we do not share your address with third parties.

Service providers

How long we keep it

Vercel server access logs are retained by Vercel under their data retention policy, typically on the order of one month. Vercel Analytics discards the raw IP within 24 hours. Aggregate page-view statistics persist. Email correspondence is retained for the duration of the exchange and any reasonable follow-up window.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with a privacy statute that grants subject rights, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to certain processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection regulator. Given that we do not link page-view data to identity, most requests resolve to "we do not hold anything about you that is not already anonymous." Direct any request to coracle@coracleresearch.com and we will respond within thirty days.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to the address above and we will delete the record.

Updates

We may revise this policy. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top of the page and note the change on the next research drop.
